  1. Letters Patent dated October 11, 1957 incorporating the Bow Horn Bay Fire Protection District are revoked and the Bow Horn Bay Fire Protection District is dissolved. 
  2. A service area for the Regional District of Nanaimo is established for the land comprising the Bow Horn Bay Fire Protection District for the purposes of fire prevention, fire suppression and response to other classes of circumstances that may cause harm to persons or property.
  3. All assets and liabilities of the Bow Horn Bay Fire Protection District, whether real or contingent, are transferred to the Regional District of Nanaimo. 
  4. All bylaws of the Bow Horn Bay Fire Protection District are declared to be bylaws of the Regional District of Nanaimo and continue in force and effect until amended or repealed by the board of directors for that regional district.

Section 2 of B.C. Reg. 137/2004 - the Safety Standards Act Repeal and Transitional Provisions Regulations is amended (a) by renumbering the section as section 2(1) and (b) by adding the following subsection: (2) A Local government that continues to administer gas systems and equipment under subsection (1) must administer all inspections required with respect to permits issued by the local government during that continued administration, whether or not the local government is no longer otherwise administering gas systems and equipment or electrical equipment when an inspection is required.

(b)   effective July 4,2004, the Cremation, Interment and Funeral Services Act, S.RC. 2004, c. 35 is brought into force. 
(c)   effective July 4, 2004, the Acts and portions of Acts set out in Schedule 1 are repealed, 
(d)   effective July 4, 2004, the regulations set out in Schedule 2 are repealed,
(e)   effective July 4, 2004, the regulations set out in Schedule 3 are amended as set out in that schedule, 
(f)   effective January 1, 2005, Part 5 and sections 196, 207, 216 and 218 to 229 of the Business Practices and Consumer Protection Act are brought into force, and,
(g)   effective January 1,2005, the Consumer Protection Act, RSBC. 1996, c. 69, the Cost of Consumer Credit Disclosure Act, S.B.C.. 2000, c. 13, and the Consumer Protection Act Regulation, B.C. Reg. 62/87, are repealed.
