Effective September 24, 2007:

1.  Sections 1 , 3, 5 to 11 , 12 (b) and (c), 15, 16, 21 to 31, 33 to 47, 49 to 53 and 55 to 68 of the Assessment Statutes Amendment Act, 2007, S.B.C. 2007, c. 13, are brought into force.

2.  The following regulations are amended in listed provisions by striking out "commissioner" and substituting "assessment authority".

• B.C. Reg. 433/98, Assessment Act Regulation;

• B.C. Reg. 388/94, Assessed Value Estimates Extension Regulation,

• B.C. Reg. 395/99, Depreciation of Dams, Power Plants and Substations Regulation;

• B.C. Reg. 379/88, Depreciation of Industrial Improvements Regulation;

• B.C. Reg. 232/78, Dissemination of Information Regulation;

• B.C. Reg. 434/98, Physical Inventory Disclosure Regulation;

• B.C. Reg. 411/95, Standards for the Classification of Land as a Farm Regulation.

3.  Section 1.2 (1) (i) of B.C. Reg. 497/77, the Assessment Authority Act Regulations, is amended by striking out "commissioner" and substituting "authority".

4.  Section 5 (a) of B.C. Reg. 370/2003, the Assessment Averaging and Phasing Regulation, is amended by striking out "assessment commissioner" and substituting "British Columbia Assessment Authority".

5.  Section 7 of B.C. Reg. 347/2005, the Parking Tax Regulation, is amended by striking out "commissioner" and substituting "British Columbia Assessment Authority".

6.  Section 2 (1) and (2) of B.C. Reg. 434/98, the Physical Inventory Disclosure Regulation, is amended by striking out "commissioner's" and substituting "assessment authority's".

7.  Section 3 (1) of B.C. Reg. 411/95, the Standards for the Classification of Land as a Farm Regulation, is amended by striking out "Assessment Commissioner" and substituting "assessment authority".

The following persons are appointed as inspectors under the Food Safety Act:

1.  Dave Charchuk, Industry Liaison Officer at the Interior Health Authority, and

2.  Terry Reidy, Enforcement Officer at the Interior Health Authority.

Persons appointed under 1 are limited to exercising powers under the Act necessary for enforcing:

(a)  the provision of the Act with respect to meat that is or is likely to be contaminated or otherwise unfit for human consumption, and

(b)  the Meat Inspection Regulation, B.C. Reg. 349/2004.
