Bee Act
1 In this regulation, "Act" means the Bee Act.
2 The definition of "disease" in section 1 of the Act includes varroa and tropilaelaps.
3 (1) For the purpose of section 14 of the Act and subject to subsection (2), infected bees may be destroyed by asphyxiation and infected equipment may be destroyed by fire.
(2) Except where the owner consents to their immediate destruction, bees or beehive equipment located in an apiary shall not be destroyed before the expiration of 2 days after the date on which notice of intention to destroy the bees or equipment is delivered to the owner of the apiary.
(3) Subject to section 25 (2) of the Act, diseased equipment in an abandoned apiary may be destroyed by fire.
