PUBLIC PLACE SANITARY FACILITIES REGULATION

[includes amendments up to B. C. Reg. 181/88]

Interpretation

1 In this regulation:

"public place" means public place of assembly or recreation and includes an amusement park, an arena, a campsite, a church, a community hall and a developed beach, but does not include a neighbourhood park, a school ground or a refreshment stand;

"sanitary facility" means a room containing a toilet, washbasin and ancillary equipment and includes a privy, shower or urinal.

Access to sanitary facility in public place

2 No person shall operate or cause to be operated a public place unless it contains adequate sanitary facilities to which the public has access.

Maintenance of public sanitary facility

3 No person shall permit the public access to a sanitary facility that is provided by that person for use by the public under section 2 or otherwise unless that facility is maintained so as to prevent a health hazard condition arising.
